about
"If God is dead, then He is in heaven"
In the audio art installation "Wenn Gott tot ist, dann ist er im Himmel", first performed with six cassette players in 1989 in the studio of the Frankfurt artist Vollrad Kutscher, I have original interviews with Jean Baudrillard, Villem Flusser and others woven into a metatext that proves to be the end product of the composition, only here & there minimally enriched by everyday sounds from the printer, fax, telephone, etc.
The individual voices come from interviews kindly provided by HJ Lischka. In the studio, I recreated the mixing of semantics and subtly enriched them with everyday sounds. The result is a melting of meaning.
lyrics
With original statements by Jean Baudrillard, Villem Flusser, Friedrich Kittler, Christina von Braun, Peter Frank, HJ Lischka.
